Weather Presentation
Transcript: Land or Water? What are fronts? Fronts are two different masses that have been separated. Cold fronts have to deal with thunderstorms, rain, snow and other cold types of weather. Warm fronts have to deal with nice weather like being sunny. Fronts normally just have to deal with weather. If we didn't have fronts, I have no clue how weather would work. Fronts have to deal with weather, signals, and mountains. There are many different symbols on the weather map, as you can see on the map. Some of the symbols are cold fronts, warm fronts, cloudy or not. They help predict weather because if it was a cold front coming in, then they pretty much know its going to be cold. If there is a warm front coming in then they mostly know that it is going to be warm. If its cloudy and rainy they can tell because there are closed circles on the map if its cloudy, if not cloudy then there are open cirlces. Fronts affecting Weather Fronts Land heats faster than water, because it has a lower heat capacity. Water takes longer to get heat, because it has a higher heat capacity. So, the higher the heat capacity the longer something takes to get heat, the lower the heat capacity the faster something takes to get heat. So, if you were to boil water and it takes a while to boil that's because what ever your boiling it on has a high heat capacity. This is why land heats faster than water, because it has a lower heat capacity than water. Which is Denser? Weather Move Across U.S By Elijah Serna What heats faster land or water? Why? The differences between warm and cold fronts are that cold fronts have to deal with cold things such as cold weather like rain and snow. Warm fronts have to deal with warm things like warm weather outside. Cold fronts also deal with mountains, warm fronts mostly have to deal with nice weather. Symbols on A Weather Map A cold air mass is denser because it has to deal with mainly water, because rain and snow are made up of water in different ways. Warm air mass deals with heat so its not really dense. Cold air mass has to deal with liquidy stuff like water, this is why a cold air mass is denser than a warm air mass. Weather moves across the United States by having fronts. Fronts move the weather throughout the United States, by pushing the weather across the United States. I don't know what we would do if we didn't have fronts, because how would the weather move across the United States? Fronts effect weather by having cold and warm weather, like if its nice snowing or raining. Fronts mainly have to deal with weather, it tells weather its going to be cold or warm in places. Like on the map it showed that cold fronts were coming in. Fronts affect weather by having many different types of weather. Weather Concepts Differences
