Transcript: The Road Ahead Meanings Behind Artist's Work Meanings Behind Artist's Work My topic is paintings & drawings that have hidden meanings or their history behind the paintings. I research famous paintings and thier histories and how artist came up with these paintings and what they mean. I also researched how style and techniques change or add more to the meaning of the painting/drawing. I researched and study famous paintings to find the emotions and moral within paintings. Famous Examples Famous Examples The Starry Night The Starry Night The painting was created by Vincent Van Gogh. It was actually painted during the day. The view where it was painted was from his ground floor studio but it is debated that he actually painted it from the east window of his asylum room. As you can see the Starry Night uses the difference of color to put emotion and texture to the painting. The use of light and dark can help represent the "stars" in the sky. The use of doing small light strokes on the painting help create the flow of the painting and add texture. The effects of the painting The effects of the painting The Night Watch The Night Watch The Night Watch was created by Rembrandt. It shows 34 figures marching out of the city. It was the company of Captain Banning Cocq and seventeen members of his Kloveniers (civic military guards). It was a famous painting of vandalism. It was slash by a knife in 1911, A school teacher in 1975 cut it serval times. In 1990 a man spilled acid on it. You can see a line where it was slashed(the dog). The contrast of light and dark points out three major people. The captain, the second in command, and the girl. The girl is carring a dead chicken and a pistol called a "klover", which are symbols of the Kloveniers. The Night Watch is a very good example of showing symbolism and the contrast of light and dark. The little girl that is standing behind the captin is much lighter than everyone else. She is carrying a dead chicken in her belt which represents the army's mascot. It is a good luck charm as they leave for battle. The effects of the painting The effects of the painting Quiz Quiz Here are eight different paintings that have many messages within them. Take a look at them and try to identify what you think the artist is try to say. What can you take away from this painting? What can you take away from this painting? What does this mean to you? The PHD Project's purpose is to deliver a high impact approach through a comprehensive range of HIV, HCV, and other STI prevention interventions and related services to young gay men and young men who have sex with men between the ages of 16-29. Vision Purpose Emmanuel Rodriguez Ricky VonWerger Campaign Models Welcome & Introduction Programs and Services In Our Own Voices, Inc. Presents "The overall experience was fun and enriching. Enriching on a few different levels- for myself as well as the relationships built during the project. A couple of the people a part of the campaign I consider friends- so to work with them collectively to help promote and make statements of health and empowerment, for our community, added value to us as members of the community as well as IOOV as an organization within the community." "As a Latino gay man it is my responsibility to bring awareness to my community. Within the Latino community most don’t talk about "taboo" subjects, such as sex. This was a way for me to educate others on the many barriers Latino and other POC MSM communities face on a consistent basis." "At first I was a bit apprehensive in participating. After long discussions with my significant other, however, I saw the importance of being part of a campaign that is trying to create a change and direct the narrative as Gay, Bisexual, Queer, and Questioning Men to be more conscientious of their sexual health which isn’t talked about as much in our communities." Mikey Mullin "It is in my nature to be an advocate for this community in the best way I know how and this campaign not only brings it to light, but puts it out for the community to see." LAUNCH Project Presentation

Transcript: Critical & Creative thinking My product is an anonymous Twitter account where people can publicly share their art. They can then receive unbias feedback and creative suggestions on their work. To get the work published accounts direct message me a picture of their work and a small sentence or two about it. This sentence is usually about how their art relates to who they are as a person. My LAUNCH Project I made this product by talking with my teacher about ways I could help people share their art. After coming up with the idea of having a place where people can anonymously post their work, I decided to make a Twitter page. Citations: My Product I applied my research to my product by learning the different types of arts and how each of those types is used to express differences in people. I also learned about how certain area's of the world who are not allowed to express themselves in any way. This inspired me to use UWIRINGIYIMANA, SANDRA. HOW DARE THE SUN RISE: Memoirs of a War Child. KATHERINE TEGEN Books, 2018. The most important elements if my product is that it's safe, open to all, and public. People who utilize my page are left unknown. They can include their name but they do not have to. It is also safe because none of their personal information, other than a name if they choose to include it, is shared with the public. Another important element of this product is that it's open to anyone who wishes to use it and it's shared with the public. I chose to make this as my product because I thought it would be a safe and effective way for people to share their work with the world. Many people are kept from sharing who they are because of rules or fear of judgement; this inspired me to help these silenced people find their voice. Why? Critical thinking was an important part of my product. I say this because I had to find a way to build awareness for a topic that was unknown to many people. In the end, I took a risk and was able to talk with an art teacher about possibly helping me share this product and issue. I used creative thinking by thinking of ways that I could promote my account and get through any problems I faced. How? a public server such as Twitter so people from all over could use this product. Important Elements: Applied research:

Now you can make any subject more engaging and memorable
