Transcript: Google Inventions explained Personal Life Page was born into a household where things "were usually a mess, with computers, science and technology magazines and Popular Science magazines all over the place". His attentive parents "fostered creativity and invention" within him. He also played saxophone and studied music composition while growing up. Page was first attracted to computers when he was six years old, as he was able to "play with the stuff lying around" that had been left by his parents. His older brother also taught him to take things apart and before long he was taking "everything in his house apart to see how it worked".He said that "from a very early age, I also realized I wanted to invent things. So I became really interested in technology and business. Probably from when I was 12, I knew I was going to start a company eventually. Now in 2016 Page was born as Lawrence Page on March 26, 1973 in East Lansing, Michigan. His father earned a PhD in computer science from the University of Michigan in 1965 and his mother was an instructor in computer programming at Lyman Briggs College at Michigan State University. Page is married to Lucinda Southworth, who is a research scientist and together they have two children. Larry's two children are 7 and 5 years old and their names and sex's are unknown. Google self-driving Car is a prototype vehicle that allows consumers to drive around safely with just the push of a button. The car was designed with the idea of creating a safer way for those who are visually impaired or aging to get around without giving up their independence. The car has sensors designed to detect objects as far as two football fields away in all directions, including pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles—or even fluttering plastic shopping bags and rogue birds. Page earned his Bachelor of Science in computer engineering from the University of Michigan, with honors and a Master of Science in computer science from Stanford University. While at the University of Michigan, Page created an inkjet printer made of Lego bricks. He also developed a business plan for a company that would use software to build a music synthesizer. After college Page focused on the problem of finding out which web pages link to a given page. This thought also led to the start of Google. Sergey Brin, a fellow Stanford PhD student, would soon join Page's research project originally named "Back rub". Page once told Wired magazine, “I thought Sergey was pretty obnoxious. He had really strong opinions about things, and I guess I did, too.” Google has over 40 subsidiaries company's which include Google Korea, Youtube, Vevo, Google UK Limited and Google Energy. Google has also come up with some innovative new ideas like Driveless Car, Google Glass, Google Lens, Smart Watch, Google Fiber and Project Loon. Google lens is a smart contact lens project that aims to assist people with diabetes by constantly measuring the glucose levels in their tears. The project is being carried out by Verily and it is currently being tested using prototypes. The lens consists of a wireless chip and a miniaturized glucose sensor. A tiny pinhole in the lens allows for tear fluid to seep into the sensor to measure blood sugar levels. Both of the sensors are embedded between two soft layers of lens material. The electronics lie outside of both the pupil and the iris so there is no damage to the eye. There is a wireless antenna inside of the contact that is thinner than a human’s hair, which will act as a controller to communicate information to the wireless device. Though this seems to be a perfect idea to helping those with diabetes the critics seems to think that a weak correlation that would not meet accuracy requirements for glucose monitoring Larry Page is an American computer scientist and an Internet entrepreneur who co-founded Google Inc. with Sergey Brin in 1998. He is currently the CEO of Alphabet Inc. (Google's parent company). And also own the rights to Youtube.com Inventions Explained Who is he? As of August 2016 Larry Page's net worth is 38.8 billion dollars at the age of 43 years old. He is currently ranked 19th on Forbes billionaires list. He also leads a company with over 57,000 employees in over 40 countries. 4:30-5:50 Project Loon is a collective network of balloons that were designed to extend internet connectivity to people in rural and remote areas worldwide. Project Loon has flown over 17 million km of test flights since the start of the project. One of their balloons spent 187 days aloft in the air.
