Bretton Woods Conference Bretton Woods Conference The Bretton Woods Conference, also known as United Nations Monetary and Financial Conference, was a meeting from 44 allied nations at New Hampshire. The purpose of the meeting was to make financial arrangement for post war after WW2. Cold War Cold War The Cold War was a state of conflict between the Soviet Union and the United States from 1945- 1989. The tension between the two was relatively high, but neither the Soviet Union nor the United States declared war. As a result, is how the war was named in such a way. Double- V Double-V The Double-V , also known as the "V for victory," is known as an slogan to promote fight over democracy campaigns. The slogan was led by Pittsburgh Courier, which at the time argued while African American communities are fights for their lives, they should receive rights. Franklin views with such a policy was to improve diplomatic relations between Latin America and United States. The mass slaughter was unbearable since millions of people were killed by poison gas, died from starvation, or by gunshots. Isolationism Isolationism The Isolationism was a policy that began in 1935. The policy aimed to avoid foreign engagement by devoting entire efforts of one`s country in sever ways. For instancing, banning travel by ships and banning resource exchange between other foreign countries. Joseph Stalin Joseph Stalin Joseph Stalin was born on December 18, 1878 but died on March 5, 1953. Within the time he had on earth, Joseph achieved several goals such as becoming a former premier of the Soviet Union from 1927 to 1953. K-O K-O Korematsu v. United States Korematsu v. United States The Korematsu v. United States was a landmark of the supreme court case upholding Japanese Americans from western coastal areas during World War 2 . Lend-Lease Act Lend-Lease Act The Lend-Lease Act was signed on March 11, 1941. The act given United States to give or receive supplies to Allies. With such power, U.S President Thomas Roosevelt had unlimited authority of resources. Manhattn Project Manhattan Project Manhattan Project was a code name for the development of an atomic bomb during WW2. The atomic bomb was led by J. Robert Oppenheimer at Los Alamos, New Mexico. The Manhatton Project started because U.S feared abut German scientist working on a weapon that had huge nuclear power. North Atlantic Treaty Organizations North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) The North Atlantic Treaty Organization, also referred as NATO, is an military alliance establish in April 4, 1949. The alliances was between 30 European and North American countries. Operation Dixie Operation Dixie Operation Dixie was a union launched in 1946 in the spring. The union was considered as one of CIO`s largely ineffective post WW2 campaign. The Dixie failed due to Jim Crow laws and racial strife in the South. P-T P-T Panzer Panzer A Panzer is a German armored tank used in World War 2. The tank was developed in the late 1930s and used to cause destruction toward the opposing field. Panzer tanks were built with expensive material to make them extremely durable. However, if and when a panzer tank brakes down, it was relatively difficult and expensive. Quaratine of Cuba 1962 Quaratine of Cuba 1962 Cuba was under quarantine in 1962 due to preventing the Soviets bringing military supplies. The event was impose by the United States to force the removal of Soviet nuclear missiles. Refugees Refugees After World War 2 ended in 1945, millions of people were living under Refugees in several countries. Some individuals helped displaced people such as U.S President Harry S. Truman. Harry wanted some refugees to come to the U.S. Space Race Space Race The Space Race was a competition between the Soviet Union and the United States.
