Transcript: Beat it Growing up Micheal Jackson watched and listened to various singers that influenced his career in dancing and singing. Performers like Fred Astaire, Sammy Davis Jr, Gene Kelly, Diana Ross etc. had huge impacts in Micheal's life. However his biggest influence was his godfather James brown. Micheal loved James brown cool and enthusiastic style that he brought on stage. He loved the way his moves looked so simple but yet complex. As a child Micheal mimicked James dance moves, he would get frustrated when the camera man didn't show James feet. “When I saw him move I was mesmerized. I’ve never seen a performer perform like James Brown and right then and there I knew that that was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.”- Micheal Jackson Title / Release Date +11 3.08 149 7 Ben / You Can Cry on My Shoulder 1972 +11 3.92 512 20 Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough / I Can't Help It 1979 +5 3.73 228 6 Off the Wall / Working Day and Night 1979 +11 3.83 328 11 Rock With You / Working Day and Night 1979 +4 3.26 148 9 She's Out of My Life / Get on the Floor 1980 +7 2.43 276 14 The Girl Is Mine / Can't Get Outta the Rain 1982 • Michael Jackson / Paul McCartney +11 4.07 729 24 Billie Jean / Can't Get Outta the Rain 1983 +12 3.82 538 17 Beat It / Get on the Floor 1983 +11 3.70 345 8 Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' / Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' (Instrumental) 1983 +3 3.65 254 9 Human Nature / Baby Be Mine 1983 +12 3.08 239 15 Say Say Say / Ode to a Koala Bear 1983 • Paul McCartney & Michael Jackson +6 3.54 215 6 P.Y.T.
