Transcript: Sandusky who claimed to be a family man and to put his wife first will go to prison as a sexual predator. (Author) Tyler Brandenburg Discrimination of Penn State By Howard Bryant The only way to correct this discrimination is for people to understand it was one man who did this, and not the whole school. This article ties to the book Stargirl because it only takes one person to screw everything up. In the book Stargirl, that one person was Hilary. The school is also being called names and judged wrong just like a lot of people did to Susan. (Date Found) (Website Name) (Title) Espn.com November 26, 2012 The coach Jerry Sandusky has put a lot of shame on Penn State University. The players had to leave, and the team could not go to any bowl games for four years. The football team is discriminated against, because of him. Everybody thinks that the school is a homo sexual school but they are not. That one person ruined it for a lot of student athletes and coaches. Most people think of Penn State in a sexual, nasty way. This was not the players fault nor schools. My opinion on the article is that this should not happen in a Division One School. I thought the article gave good information on the situation. I feel very bad for the multiple athletes who had to go to different schools because scholarships were canceled. June 23, 2012 A lot of the players left because they didn't want to be a part of the conflict. Penn state also had to decline some of there scholarships. (Date Published) Joe Paterno was fired and held responsible for the situation. The other student athletes stayed with pride in their school and were NOT going to leave now. Jerry Sandusky, Penn State Shame I did this topic because I like football and still like Penn State as a team. This article goes against my beliefs and goes against the law. I cant really relate to the players that lost their scholarships but I know it must be devastating. I also feel bad for the school because they get discriminated against for what had happened there.

Transcript: “Student involvement refers to the amount of physical and psychological energy that the student devotes to the academic experience” (Astin, 1984, p. 297). Involvement is an active term and is behavioral in meaning. It is not what an individual thinks or feels, but what they do or how they behave. Students on college campuses rely on events and activities as an integral part of their college experience (Spaziano, 1994). Student activities significantly affect the social, emotional, physical, and mental development of college students. Extracurricular activities affect the all-around development of college students. Student organizations host a majority of the events taking place on campus and these events bring liability concerns (Dunkel & Schuh, 1998).
