Transcript: Martin Luther King Jr. said in his Letter from Birmingham Jail, ‚We must use time creatively, and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right‘ I believe that this quote is an excellent example for the personality trait passionate. Martin Luther King was passionate in every way, he suffered in a way not a lot of people do, he went to jail for his passion. He never gave up, even in the hardest times. It suggests that we always have to use our time efficiently and do not waste it. It tells us that there is always time to the right thing, that there is always time to fix and that there is always time to try again. Even when we suffer over and over again, when your passionate you can do everything. Always try to fulfill your dreams, no matter what. It’s a strong sentiment which could move mountains. I think that passion is a character trait that is necessary in any way. Passion is something that everyone has, we just have to find it. When we find it we’ll work hard for it to become true. You will suffer and you will make mistakes, but the important thing is to never give up. Remember these three things I talked about, It’s always time to do right, don’t wait and passion is everything. I think that everyone has a passion, and that everyone should live for their passion, otherwise life is tiring and monotonous. Conclusion What each individual defines is whatever you are passionate about. The one thing you will fight for, the one thing you would give everything for. In an interview in February, Karl Lagerfeld said „ I don’t believe in waiting for inspiration. The French say, l’appétit vient en mangeant, the ideas come when you work. I work a lot for the garbage can. I have huge bins next to me, for whatever I do, 95 percent goes to the bin. But I never give up. “ Karl Lagerfeld is an eminent german Fashion and Costume Designer and Photographer. He is the chef designer for Chanel and Fendi. I think this is a perfect fitting quote for the character trait passionate. You have to start everything you want to do and shouldn’t wait for it to happen. When you just start you won’t stop until everything is perfect you will be creative and inspired, however you will make mistakes, you will be suffering and will be frustrated. If it’s your passion you will never give up, you will always come back to it and never forget about it. It is something you can’t really explain, it is within all of us. I think that passion is a sublime character trait, which everyone has inside of oneself. My personal example is my Dad. When he was younger he always had a passion for Architecture however when he graduated from school he didn’t really know what to do with his life, because his mother didn’t want him to become an architect or an engineer. She thought he would be better off as a doctor or a teacher. So my dad chose medicine as his major in college and was never really happy about it. He had bad grades and wasn’t proud of what he was studying. One day he just decided to change his major and changed it to architecture. He told me that ‘It was the best choice of my life, I would study until three o’ clock in the morning and I still loved it. I couldn’t stop reading in my textbook, I couldn’t stop to learn more about it. I knew it was my passion, I was supposed to do that, it was my great dream and I worked so hard for it. I’ve never worked harder for anything. I graduated best in my class. Passion made me do it and made me nail it, passion is everything.’ The story he told me was amazing. I felt really inspired and I was hoping that I would find that kind of passion in my life. As I mentioned in the slides before, passion can hurt and you will suffer but it will all be worth it. Passionate people don’t give up, no matter how hard it is at the end you will be glad you went through all of it, you will look back and think ‘Passion made me do it and made me nail it, passion is everything’ Works Cited
