The client modules communicate with the host controller through GPRS. Smart Home: A smart home is a place that equipped with computing and information technology, and can accept as well as reply resident’s request.. The purpose is to provide resident a safety, convenient, comfort and joyful life through managing various technologies at home and outside world. GPRS: General packet radio service (GPRS) is a packet oriented mobile data service on the 2G and 3G cellular communication system's (GSM). Android OS: A developer survey conducted in April–May 2013 found that 71% of mobile developers develop for Android. Android is the most popular mobile OS. Android is a mobile operating system (OS) based on the Linux kernel and currently developed by Google. GPRS Modem is built with SIM900 Quad-band GPRS engine, works on frequencies 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz and 1900 MHz. It is very compact in size. The Modem is designed with 5V TTL interfacing circuitry, which allows you to directly interface to 5V microcontrollers. This GPRS TTL Modem is having internal TCP/IP stack to enable you to connect with internet via GPRS. REFERENCES THANK YOU The home automation system has been experimentally proven to work satisfactorily by connecting sample appliances to it and the appliances were successfully controlled by android smart phone. This unit is the heart of the complete system.It will monitor & control all the peripheral devices or components connected in the system. The controller used here will be of 8051 family. The code will be written in Embedded C and will be burned or programmed into the code memory using a programmer. This unit requires +5VDC for it proper operation Building An Application On Android Phone Which Will Control Devices. Displaying Status Of Each device will Let Us Know Which Devices are in Used. Android is an mobile operating system based on Linux Kernel Android gives us tools for creating apps that looks great and take more advantage of the hardware capabilities available on each device. The main purpose of using android is to send the control signal from smart phone through GPRS. A Infrared proximity sensor is a sensor able to detect the presence of nearby objects without any physical contact. A proximity sensor often emits a beam of electromagnetic radiation (infrared)and looks for changes in the return signal. GPRS Modem As microcontroller cannot supply more current to drive high current sinking device; we will use relay driver circuit to drive the relays. We will use ULN2803 IC for this purpose. A relay is a simple electromechanical Switch. Here we are using SPDT (Single Pole, Double Throw) Type Relay. It will be used to switch ON OR OFF the electrical path between two contacts. This unit requires +12VDC for it proper operation. The proposed project aims at ensuring good monitoring and control of various home appliances. It provide a good automation system as it send the control signal from smart phone through GPRS. Also the system provide an easy access to either switch ON/OFF the device based on the value of the parameter received. This system will be advancement in the Industry, and also of low cost.
