Transcript: Learn all about the heart All about the Heart What is a heart? The heart is a very powerful pump that keeps you alive. The heart beats about 100 000 times a day as it sends blood all throughout the body through the arteries. The heart lies near the center of your two lungs. An adult heart is about the size of an adult fist, and a child’s heart is about the size of a child’s fist. The heart starts pumping about 7 months before you are born. When our heart stops pumping blood you die unless it’s hooked up by a machine. Your heart has a cycle to follow to deliver blood throughout your body. The heart has two sides, separated by an inner wall called the septum. The right side of the heart pumps blood to the lungs to pick up oxygen and deliver it to the left side and then deliver blood to the body. The left side of the heart receives the oxygen and blood from the lungs and pumps it to the body once again. The heart has four chambers and four valves and is connected to various blood vessels. Veins are blood vessels that carry blood from the body to the heart. Arteries are blood vessels that carry blood away from the heart to the body. Our hearts cycle Our hearts cycle Heart Picture. Heart picture and video. Left side of heart that gives the blood with oxygen in it to the body Right side of heart that pumps blood to the lungs Arteries entrance to the lungs so the heart can give blood to the lungs for the lungs to give you oxygen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-s5iCoCaofc All About the Heart Why we Think of the Heart as love The heart was first thought by egypt people who were very religious. They thought that the heart was responsible for all of your thoughts, like the brain. Since they always thought good they thought the heart was a form of love. As more research came about, they thought differently. We have heard about it through generations about what people used to think of the heart so now we think of the heart as love. Why we Think of the Heart as love why we can feel our heart beat in different places of our body Did you know that our beats almost as fast as we wink, while this is happpening every beat of your heart sends blood all throughout your body. Since our heart is now getting ready for the next pump we can feel our heart beating and giving blood all through your body. When our heart is getting ready for the next pump it sends viabration through the blood stream, therefor you can feel our heart beat everywhere through our body.
