Activity description Pre-activity: The aim: test student's prior knowledge and have a first contact in a very dynamic way of the topic we are going to work on, trying to involve them as much as possible in their learning. The activity consists of a card game in which matching pairs must be selected from memory from cards laid face down. The name will appear on one of the pair's cards and the image on the other. In groups of 4 people, students will play in teams making relays. The person who matches a pair, must write a sentence on the whiteboard. 8. Content Activity: The name of the activity is "The magic box" The theme is all about school and the flashcards have been divided into three colors: Green for material, yellow for places and pink for sports and games. 1. The first step is to show the children all the flashcards as a final review before starting the activity. 2. Then, all the flashcards will be put into the magic box. Then ask for a volunteer to start the activity. 3. The chosen volunteer will have to open the box and take out a flashcard at random. It is important to remind them that they cannot show the card to the rest of their classmates. 4. The student must mime the action, object or place on their flashcard, and the others will try to guess it. In case they had difficulty guessing any of them, they could ask some simple questions such as: - Is it an action or an object? But, wait, there is a trick. Once the student has seen the flashcard inside the box, he/she has to decide whether to interpret what is on the flashcard or something else. When the rest of the students have guessed the action, they must also decide whether the mime is lying or is really interpreting what he/she was supposed to. Template (16 & 17) Post-Activity: The treasure hunt consists of a tour around the school with different areas where the clues are hidden to find out how to get to the next area and finally finish the treasure hunt. Example: the clues will be sentences completed with flash cards instead of words in certain parts, the pupils will have to decipher the sentence and go to the next area. Go as if you were (cooking flashcard) to the (kitchen flashcard) and get an (apple flashcard).
