Transcript: February 4, 2014 Why do you think Janet Yellen was appointed Chief of The Federal Reserve? I Think Janet Yellen was appointed Chief of the Federal Reserve because the people voting for her believed she was a key force in helping to boost the United States economy. And plus she's the first female to hold this position. Q: What types of businesses do you think were effected by the water contamination in West Virginia and how? A: I would say Coal Mining Businesses simply because they have a history of having problems with contaminated water. Restuarants because contaminated water limits the restuarant to providing clear water to their customers and also food that needs to be cooked in water. Wash Houses because nobody wants to wear clothes washed in contaminated water. Hotels and Schools because these are public places, usually where theres no limit. Q: What is your favorite Google product? Why? A: I would say the Google Car because it gives people who are visually impaired a chance to still be able to jump in a car and go. January 9, 2014 Q: Do you think the unemployment rate will be high or low when you graduate? A: I think the unemployment rate will be low when I graduate because by then more jobs will have become available to the previous unemployed . But then again unemployment rates are based on the people shown trying. If people try looking for jobs, then the RATE of unemployment will decrease. January 16, 2014 January 15, 2014 January 8 , 2014 Q: Dr. King fought for workers rights in the workplace, what workplace issue still needs attention today? A: Should athletes be given special treatment at NCAA Schools? No . because it wouldn't be fair to non athletes. Why should someone be given special privileges because they know how to throw a football or dribble a basketball. That's like telling someone they can be dumb as a door knob but if they know how to play basketball its okay . Usually in high school you would have to keep up academically before maintaining a position on the team , I think it should be the same for NCAA schools. What types of businesses benefit from extreme weather? A: In extremely cold environments such as Alaska or somewhere like that, The North Face and UGGS Australia because they make products for extremely cold weather. Gas companies also because when it gets cold, people want to be warm. January 22, 2014 CNN Student News Sponge January 13, 2014 January 14, 2014 What do you think about CVS's decision not to sell cigarettes anymore? Discuss A: I think their decision is their decision. However, any logical thinking person would oppose selling cigarettes in a pharmacy simply because when you think about it, people usually take trips to pharmacies or drug stores for pharmaceutical purposes. Now, we've all seen the commercials about how many people die every whatever because of cigarettes, so why sell them in the same environment in which medicine is being distributed. It contradicts itself Since revenue affects stock prices, name a company whose stock price rose or dropped due to the snow storm last week. A: Yum Brands said late Monday its fourth-quarter earnings fell to 70 cents a share from 72 cents a share a year ago.
