End on Time 3 Part lesson strategies A three-part lesson is an inquiry-based learning method used initially to teach mathematics in K–12 schools but is widely used in all contents. It consists of 3 components: Opener Work session Closer Standard 4- Diff. Instruction- Teacher challenges and supports stud. Learning by providing appropriate content and developing skills which address individual learning differences. Standard 5- Assessment Strategies- Teacher chooses a variety of diagnostic, formative, and summative assessment strategies and instruments that are valid and appropriate for the content and student population Standard 6- Assessment Uses- Teacher systematically gathers, analyzes, and uses relevant data to measure student progress, to inform instructional content and delivery methods, and to provide timely and constructive feedback to both students and parents. Standard 8- Academically Challenging Environment- Teacher creates a student centered, academic environment in which teaching and learning occur at high levels and students are self directed learners. Write a rap explaining your top three character traits Select three people throughout history who have not had positive character traits and how that hurt them? Sketch a cartoon that illustrates 4 positive and negative character traits Develop an alternative course of action for a student that displays negative character traits. Write a dramatic speech explaining the importance of demonstrating positive character traits. Blockheads Cubing gives students who like to use their hands and move around a chance to feel like they are “playing” while learning. Cubing gives students a chance to look at a concept from a series of different perspectives. Cubing is very flexible and encourages depth and complexity. Cubing allows the teacher to differentiate for readiness in a very un-obvious way.
