By: Elizabeth Hower Revised Standards My Curriculum Plan is based on Curriculum 2.0 third grade mathematics addition. The addition lessons are focused around indicators from the Common Core State Standards, in the Number and Operations Base Ten domain, measuring place value understanding and properties of operations to perform multi-digit arithmetic. Addition is completed during the first quarter, week’s one through five. Before & After Received Standards (1.3.C.2) Students will fluently add and subtract within 1000 using strategies and algorithms based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction. Reflective Inquiries Disciplinary Inquiry occurs during collaborative planning time with teammates, the staff development teacher and administration. To make sure Disciplinary Inquiry is met during instruction, representation of multiple means, hands-on, and cooperative peer learning activities are used. Multiperspective Inquiry is used in the teacher perspective by exploring diverse view points and meeting the individual needs of the students. Not all students learn in the same way or at the same pace. The teacher needs to be open to the answers she will receive when discussing the different methods and strategies of addition. Doing so makes students feel comfortable and confident in their answers whether right or wrong. Learning Experiences
