Highlighting My Background and Experience
Transcript: Grogan-Mohr PhD in Wolbachia Research Project Experience Skills and Expertise Overview Educational Qualifications Overview Educational Qualifications Professional Experience During my research on Japanese Encephalitis Virus (JEV) in the Gorakhpur district, I conducted an extensive epidemiological survey involving approximately 200 households. This comprehensive survey included not only gathering data on the incidence and spread of JEV but also assessing the vaccination status of individuals within these households. Academic Achievements My academic journey includes an MSc in Public Health from LSHTM and a Pharm D from SRM Institute of Science and Technology. These qualifications have provided me with a strong foundation in epidemiology, research methodology, and pharmaceutical sciences. My skill set encompasses software proficiency in tools like Epi info and GraphPad Prism, technical skills in ELISA and immunofluorescence assay, and leadership roles in various projects. With a strong foundation in pharmaceutical services and project collaboration, I bring a diverse range of capabilities to the table. What you want to do after your PhD. . ,gfdtf To evaluate the effectiveness of the JEV vaccine, we collected blood samples from vaccinated children to check for vaccine immunogenicity. This step was crucial in understanding how well the vaccine was eliciting an immune response in the target population. In parallel, we addressed the vector control aspect of JEV transmission. Our team identified and isolated Culex tritaeniorhynchus mosquitoes, the primary vectors of JEV in the region. We then conducted thorough testing to assess the resistance patterns of these mosquitoes, particularly focusing on their resistance to malathion, a commonly used insecticide. Recognitions include being a School Topper, receiving patent awards, and achieving academic excellence in Pharm D. These achievements reflect my dedication to academic pursuits and signal my ability to excel in research and scholarly endeavors. Accomplishments and Volunteering My academic journey includes an MSc in Public Health from LSHTM and a Pharm D from SRM Institute of Science and Technology. These qualifications have provided me with a strong foundation in epidemiology, research methodology, and pharmaceutical sciences. I have gained diverse professional experience through roles such as Clinical Coder, Student Ambassador, and Clinical Pharmacist Intern. These roles have equipped me with valuable skills in healthcare operations, communication, and patient care. Accomplishments and Volunteering Overview My journey is marked by academic excellence, patent awards, and impactful volunteer work with organizations like NSS and British Heart Foundation. Through these accomplishments and volunteering experiences, I have demonstrated a commitment to making a positive impact in public health and community well-being. Software Proficiency JEV Project in collaboration with ICMR (2021-2022) Dyad Healthcare Operations AI - Clinical Coder JAPANESE ENCEPHALITIS (JE) VACCINE IMMUNOGENICITY AND VECTOR (Culex tritaeniorhynchus) RESISTANCE PATTERN IN INDIA Proficient in Epi info, GraphPad Prism, Pyrx, STATA, MS-Office, Endnote, and Berkeley Madonna. These software skills enable me to effectively analyze data, conduct statistical research, and present findings in a clear and concise manner. My work at ICMR focused on enhancing the well-being of children impacted by the Japanese Encephalitis Virus (JEV) in the Gorakhpur district. This experience allowed me to lead significant initiatives, conduct epidemiological surveys, and contribute to targeted interventions for improving child health outcomes. As a Clinical Coder, I review and annotate AI-generated codes for GP practice letters, ensuring accuracy and quality in clinical documentation. This role has strengthened my attention to detail and proficiency in medical coding practices. Main objectives: To re-explore the immunogenicity/longevity of the JE vaccine in children. To study the pattern of resistance among the vector (Culex species of mosquito).
